What happens when you call
- You call (650) 898-3789 with your location — cross street, or freeway direction and the nearest exit, or a parking lot address.
- Tell us the fuel your vehicle takes and roughly how far you need to get. If you are stopped on a freeway shoulder, call 911 first, get out on the passenger side, and wait behind the guardrail rather than in the car.
- You get the price before a technician is dispatched.
- A technician brings fuel to the vehicle, puts it in the tank, and stays until the engine starts and you are moving.
Out of gas, or is it something else?
Running dry has a signature: the engine sputters and loses power before it quits, and afterward it still cranks normally — it may even catch for a second and die again. That is a fuel problem. If the engine cranks strongly but never catches at all and the gauge shows fuel in the tank, the gauge or the fuel pump may be the issue rather than an empty tank, and fuel in the filler will not fix it. If the engine does not crank at all — one click, or silence, with dim dash lights — that is electrical, not fuel, and a jump start or battery test is the call to make instead. Two practical notes. A delivery is meant to get you to a station, not to fill the tank, so plan the nearest one. And repeatedly running the tank to empty is hard on the fuel pump, which sits down inside the tank and relies on the fuel around it to stay cool. An electric vehicle out of charge is a different situation entirely — that needs a charge or a tow, and we do not tow.
