What happens when you call

- Tell us whether you have a spare and where it lives — under the trunk floor, slung under the rear of the vehicle, or nowhere, because plenty of newer cars ship with a sealant kit instead of a spare. If there is no spare, say so on the call and we will talk about on-site repair.
- You get the price before a technician is dispatched.
- The technician lifts the vehicle at its proper jack point, swaps the wheel, torques the lug nuts, and checks the spare’s pressure before you drive away.
Should the tire be changed or repaired?
It depends on where the damage is. A nail or screw in the tread — the flat part that meets the road — is often repairable on the spot. Damage to the sidewall, the curved outer face of the tire, generally is not, and neither is a tire that has been driven on while flat, because the inner liner gets chewed up even when the outside still looks fine. That is the argument for pulling over immediately rather than pushing on to the next exit. If your spare is a compact “donut”, treat it as a get-you-there part: there is a speed and distance limit, and it is printed on the spare itself, so read it before you set off. A full-size matching spare has no such limit, but check its pressure anyway — spares sit untouched for years and leak. One safety call that outranks all of this: if the flat is on a traffic lane or a freeway shoulder, phone 911 first and stay out of the car, on the far side from traffic.

Either, depending on what you need. If you have a usable spare, we can put it on. If the tire needs replacing, we can often source one, though it depends on your size and what is available that day. Tell us the tire size on the sidewall when you call and we will let you know the options before we come out.
